Title goes here;
Andrés Castillo Quintana is a first-generation Peruvian immigrant, healthcare administrator, nonprofit leader and aspiring public servant. He was elected to the Bedford Town Board in November 2021, assuming office January 1, 2022.
In June 2018, he graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Certificate in Global Health and Health Policy.
In December 2018, Andres was hired as Open Door Family Center’s very first Coordinator for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us Research Program, a nationwide project that aims to accelerate medical breakthroughs, promote personalized care and improve the health of current and future generations by gathering and studying health data from a diverse sample of a million or more U.S. participants.
Andrés has also built a robust community-based program that offers free, multilingual digital literacy classes that empower low-income communities by ushering them into our digital era and allowing them to take full advantage of what the Internet has to offer. In January 2021, Andres was promoted to Patient Engagement Manager, a role that will allow him to address significant health disparities by ensuring that patients have the full capacity to engage with the medical center and receive high-quality care.
During his free time, Andrés practices ballroom dance at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Mount Kisco, where he serves as a top male student and ambassador. He also volunteers as a founding member of the Fox Lane High School Alumni Board and the Emerging Leaders Board at Latino U College Access, a nonprofit that aims to empower first-generation Latino youth to enroll and succeed in college.
Ultimately, as a future policymaker, global activist and social entrepreneur, Andres plans to dedicate his career to advancing civil rights, educational equity, financial empowerment, comprehensive immigration reform, environmental protection and universal access to high-quality healthcare.
